Seminar 6 - Fact or Fiction: THE GROWING ROLE OF DOCUMENTARY

David Puttnam analyses what it means to be a producer of documentary films and the impact you can have on society. He also addresses how this profession has evolved over the years. What are the current challenges compared to the challenges David Puttnam faced when he was producing his films? Where might current opportunities lie? Case Studies from David's films illustrate the particular challenges he was faced with during an holistic process of screen producing. From idea to first (test) screenings and acceptance of the work by the audience. Puttnam highlights where and when it DID work out, and shares some examples when it DID NOT.
