Fulbright Lecture

Good Evening.

I'm truly sorry to be two years late - it's something I wasn't at all happy about at the time although, as I hope I can establish, the intervening years have provided me with a lot more ammunition than was available to me in 2010.

When I was asked, a few months ago, for a theme and title for tonight's lecture, I was sure of only one thing, that I wanted to use the occasion to take a closer look at the progress of the Leveson Inquiry; however I could never have imagined how stark would be the emergence of what I can only describe as 'disparate cultures' - so much so that tonight's lecture could more accurately have been entitled - 'Two Britains'...
