Keynote for EU Audiovisual Conference

Estonia will hold a visionary audiovisual conference as part of Estonia’s presidency of the Council of European Union.
The two-day event, held within the framework of the Black Nights Film Festival will host talks and panels on the impact of new business models and big data on culture; how policymakers envision film funding in Europe; the European Union’s potential with emerging storytelling technologies, such as virtual reality and augmented reality and many other topics etc.
The concerenfe aims at taking a broader view of the European audiovisual sector beyond provisions in the Audiovisual Media Services Directive or funding schemes of film funds and the MEDIA program. Discussions include where the European audiovisual market is going long-term, where should we strive to and how new business models based on algorithms and big data analytics are impacting the industry and our culture more broadly.

The event is organised as part of 2017 Estonian Presidency of the Council of the EU. Working language of the conference is English.
